民國八年國父一面著書，一面積極策劃驅除桂系軍閥。此為該年十一月國父對援贛第四軍軍長伍毓瑞之來信，批以「救國必先滅賊」。

In a letter to army commander Wu Yu-jui in November 1919, Sun Yat-sen elaborates on the need to conquer the rebellious Kwangsi clique, telling Wu, saying, "It is imperative to annihilate bandits in order to save the country."
