美國與中國貿易戰引發全球關注，這場由美國對中國祭出「301條款」所發動的貿易戰，雙方你來我往，互相提高關稅，進行制裁與反制裁的爭戰。本文研究發現，美中貿易戰表面上是因為美國不滿中國長期享有貿易順差卻遲遲未能有效改善不公平貿易的經濟問題，實際上，有其政治上的考量，美國擔憂中國崛起會危及其世界霸權的地位，因而鎖定中國意欲發展高科技的「中國製造2025」，對相關產品祭出高關稅，以免中國的科技超越美國，進而在經濟與政治發展上威脅美國。此外，本文也發現，孫中山早在一百年前提出的《實業計劃》所顯示的政治經濟觀就已經提及經濟問題與政治問題是連帶的，外國對中國的壓力，經濟壓力的後面是政治壓力，經濟發展之權一定要操之在我，操之在人則亡。對照今日美中貿意之戰，孫中山的政治經濟觀可說是真知灼見，依然有其時代意義。而臺灣夾處美中兩大強權的爭戰之中，如何趨吉避凶，避免成為美中的祭品，甚至汲取美中貿易戰的教訓，為臺灣的前途開創新景，孫中山的政治經濟觀歷久彌新。

The trade war between the US and China has raised global concern. Initiated by the US Article 301 on China, this back and forth trade war between the two countries has resulted in increased tariffs, sanctions and anti-sanctions.
This study found that on the surface, the US-China trade war was due to US dissatisfaction with China’s long-term trade surplus and its inability to effectively resolve the economic problem of unfair trade. In actuality, the US is politically concerned that its world dominance will be threatened by China’s rising status. Therefore, the US targeted China's Made in China 2025 high technology development plan, and levied high tariffs on related products to prevent China's technology from surpassing the US and threatening US economic and political development.
This study also found that as early as a century ago, in his The International Development of China, Sun Yat-sen's political and economic concepts already addressed the connection between economic and political issues, foreign pressure on China, political pressure behind economic stress, and the demise of economic development if authority is controlled by others. In light of today's US-China trade war, Sun Yat-sen's political and economic views proved to be insightful and remain significant in this era.
Caught in the middle of the battle between the superpowers, Sun Yat-sen’s political and economic outlook remains applicable to how Taiwan can avoid the adversity of being sacrificed by the US and China. In fact, by learning from the US-China trade war, Taiwan can even develop a new vision for the future.
