This research aims at analysing the content of Taiwanese Culture and Chinese Culture, which are based on the vision of globalization and plural culture. Taiwanese Culture is the general name that cultivated by all the races on this land through the ages. So is Chinese Culture. However, they can not totally equate because there are different developing history between the two. "Taiwanese" and "Chinese" are two terms with different implicit concepts, the former refers to the persons living in Taiwan, and the latter refers to the people living in China. Their awareness means differently in culture, region, and politics. This research characterizes HAN Culture, which is the same element on both Taiwanese and Chinese. And HAN Culture in Taiwan is derived from China.
The term of "Chinese Culture" is raised in China Mainland at the beginning of the 20th century. Chinese Culture has implied all the cultures in Taiwan since the government of the Republic of China moved here. Taiwanese Culture is apt to be ignored its entity and the differences between Taiwanese and Chinese are disregarded. The concept of Chinese Culture can be regional, political, and cultural. Chinese Culture is a product of the cultures as well as the politics. Consequently, HAN Culture is only one derivation of Taiwanese Culture. Han Culture, aboriginal culture and exotic cultures are localized and have molded Taiwanese Culture today. Taiwanese Culture is pluralized, and Chinese Culture is pluralized, too.
Today, Taiwan has her own cultural entity as well as the way of cultural development, which can be separated from or merged into Chinese Culture. This research is based on the concept of plural culture promoted by Dr Sun Yet-Sian. His ideas can be used to interpret a great deal of content in Taiwan Culture and Chinese Culture.
